Job Title: Safety Manager

Location: Cedar City, Utah

Safety Manager:

The Safety Manager will act as a resource for internal employees relating to how to uphold regulatory safety standards and complete tasks while limiting risk. As a Safety Manager you will be responsible for all safety aspects, overseeing progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role is responsible for sharing expertise with associates by conducting training and creating informational materials for the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain DOT compliance, OSHA and OQ’s (Operator Qualification Training)
  • Monitors construction activities and advises management on compliance with applicable regulatory rules, regulations and/or laws
  • Assist with the company safety training curriculum to include development of training courses and teaching of training sessions
  • Directs and assists in the investigation of serious accidents, major property damage and incidents with the general public. Analyzes investigative data and assists in the development of preventive measures to eliminate or control hazards and potential liabilities
  • Assist with project specific claims management functions: Workers’ Compensation, property, general liability and auto insurance
  • Support HR with coordinating return-to-work and “light-duty” job descriptions on each project
  • Assists with safety and health program evaluations of construction activities and advises supervision and management of adequacy and compliance with mandatory rules and regulations
  • Maintain Golden Shovel and AGA
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to company safety status
  • Identify problems and provide potential solutions to Corporate Management
  • Perform field audits and analyze, manage and mitigate risks
  • Implement and manage safety incentive program

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 year experience in Safety Management
  • Advanced knowledge of safety processes in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Proctor Safeland training
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR with some medical/nursing background preferred
  • Must be willing to travel to job sites and work additional hours as needed
